Surgical results of endonasal dacrocystorhinostomy

Background: The lacrimal system includes the tear film of eye and drainage system. Endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) is a safe effective method surgical treatment nasolacrimal duct obstruction. anatomy nasal cavity better visualized endoscopically sac approached under vision hence results are decided at time surgery. Methods: Present clinical study was conducted in tertiary medical centre from July 2015 to 2016. Total 50 patients with epiphora as evidenced by blockage on syringing were included study. Children less than 10 years revision cases excluded. These underwent DCR without stenting. Results: Out patients, 60% males 40% females. Surgical success defined anatomical patency symptomatic relief end follow up period which observed 45 (90%) patients. Incidence complications low only 5 followed for 6 months no complaints epiphora. Conclusions: It gives equivalent when compared external method. Thus, we can minimize complications, discomfort, cost stenting visits after endonasal Due higher rate, minimal invasiveness high patient satisfaction other procedures, it has gained more popularity.
